Girls Ride Out – June Ride Report
Hi GRObies
Well how lucky were we yesterday with
the weather. Must be that sun god that Selena is always praying to.
Didn't actually get to count how many
bikes there were, but I'm sure there would have been in the vicinity
of 25 - 30.
It started off very cool for us (3º
at Campbelltown) with our 80+km ride to the meeting point at
Berowra, (the penalties of being a South Westerner) where we met
some new and some seasoned GRObies.
We started off at 10.30 and made our
way to Road Warriors at Mt White for coffee and a catch up with Di
Scaysbrook from DOC.
After everyone refreshed, and with
our new learners in tow, we set off for Wollombi. They were
awesome, and did extremely well. They should be very proud of their
achievements yesterday, particularly on Lemmings corner, they
blitzed through it. Well not really blitzed, they took their time
and at their own pace and rode through it very comfortably.
Being at the rear of the pack, we
didn't get to Wollombi until just before 1.00pm where lunch was in
full swing. There were heaps of bikes around which is always an
awesome sight. Our Northern Stars were also out in force as
they had ridden there to meet up with the main GRO group for lunch.
Thanks to all you Stars, it was great catching up and am looking
forward to a joint ride very soon.
Sadly I had to leave around 2ish as
we had a very long ride home ahead of us and the clouds were slowly
moving in. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get home, boy was I glad to
see my driveway.
Thanks to everyone who came today and
braved the cold.
Also, a special thanks goes to Scott
for entertaining us as he left (the mono with Paula on the back) and
the beating that he got for doing it as they rode away. One thing
I've learnt from this is never to dare Scott to do anything, won't
make that mistake twice, he he he.
Overall a fun day out doing what we
love to do - ride motorcycles and
chat to our friends.
