Post GRO ANNIVERSARY RIDE - APRIL
Hi everyone

Our next ride is on Sunday 6th April. Its our Anniversary and we will be 7 years old. WOW, who would have thought. So pleeeease come and celebrate with us.

The route we will be taking will be:

Meet McDonalds Richmond cnr East Market and March Streets 9.30am for a 10.00am Start

Follow March Street west, changes to Kurrajong Road then to Bells Line of Road,
Follow to Lithgow.
Turn left at Hartley Vale Road
Turn left onto The Gap rd, follow The Gap Road to the first fork and carry along to your right (this is an unnamed road in Whereis, but will try to confirm it before the ride), at the second fork, veer to the right, (this is also an unnamed road in Whereis), this will take you to the Great Western Highway.
Turn left onto the Great Western Highway and follow to Mount Victoria.

I know its a bit unclear on a couple of roads, but there are only two forks to follow on The Gap Road, so it shouldn't be too hard. We'll also have our wonderful corner markers to make it easier as well, so no-one will get lost.

I would love to join you on the ride, are you happy to have ppl with their L's join your group, or do you prefer to stick with the more experienced rider?? ive been told (by my ever so supportive husband!!!) that the experienced rider doesnt want to be held back by those with their L plates.... sure he was joking but you know!!!! I just need to show him!!

Well you can tell him from everyone here, that you are MORE than welcome to join us, and we will even let him tag along with you too, we won't mind.

It doesn't matter what experience level you have our group caters for you.

We have a lead rider and a tail rider who will go no faster than the slowest rider, so no-one is ever left behind.

We advocate that you ride at your own pace and we will ride at that pace with you. We will allocate you a riding buddy which is usually one of the girls, who will stick with you to the destination. We tend to send the hubbies and boyfriends up the front so that we can concentrate on what we do best and that is support and encourage female riders to ride their own ride and just enjoy it.

The guys get to enjoy themselves too as they are often our corner markers and they have a little fun winding their way back to the front after we go past.

So please feel free to join us.

Trish

Well I will and I'll get Peter to join me as he has never been on Bells Line of Rd and I know he'll just love it. So you can count us in and my bike will have a FOR SALE notice on it (Yamaha Dragstar XVS650cc 97mod).

Well after being a little quiet of late.... I have finally gotten over the nerves and Bruce is no longer feeling neglected (he has even made it to the 1K km mark all chalked up in the past 3 weeks).... He has done trips to Palm Beach, Homebush, Leichart and even Wisemans Ferry Pub and back :D

I am seriously considering this ride so would be great to finally meet some of you.

Something that everyone needs to be mindful of for this ride is that Daylight Savings ends on Sunday 6 April 2008 at 3 am summer time when clocks are put back one hour.

So hopefully everyone will have changed their clocks to be at the meeting point at 9.30am. For anyone that forgets, please enjoy the coffee at Maccas whilst you wait.

Are we just going for a normal cake this time and not the ice-cream cake?

Also Trish, will Peter and I meet you at the Caltex servo on Northern Rd at 8:00am?

Michaela

Welcome Mike,

We look forward to meeting you on our May ride.

In the meantime, keep checking out the forum. You will get to know us all pretty quickly even if you don't know what we look like.
